This rod was designed for hover fishing, hanging 2-16oz weights. It has lots of backbone but a super soft tip. Testing confirmed this rod runs a plug really well, and has the backbone to move big, heavy fish.
This rod was been extensively field-tested in Alaska’s Nushagak River for king salmon, as well as California’s San Francisco Bay for halibut.
When salmon season re-opens in California, this will be an overall great rod to back-bounce, hang/hover, and backtroll plugs.
